Book One: Sweetwood Secret
Journalist, Holly Blake, is sitting in a NYC café with her friend and lawyer, Gabriel Foster, signing the
divorce papers of her short-lived marriage when she receives a mysterious text from her brother, Lucas.
Attempts to reach Lucas after this text prove fruitless and prompt Holly to head back to her hometown of Blairsville, Georgia to track down her brother’s whereabouts. Once home, she reconnects with her former fiancé, Max Cooper, who also happens to be the new sheriff in town.
The two work together and eventually discover Lucas had gotten himself tangled up with the Sweetwood family, the wealthy owners of Blairsville’s Sorghum Processing Plant. Between a brief romantic encounter with matriarch Patsy Sweetwood and witnessing a crime involving Keith
Sweetwood, Lucas has gone missing.
It soon becomes clear to Holly that in order to facilitate her brother’s safe return to Blairsville, she will first have to untangle a web of lies that could bring down one of the richest families in Georgia. Meanwhile, she can’t stop thinking about her former flame and great it feels to be together again, even if they are not “together.”
